In June 2021, at PK-10Sh boiler (st. No. 5) of Krasnoyarsk TPP-1, specialists from ZiO group implemented the Oil-Free Firing-up System with pulverised coal plasma ignition technology. Based on the results of the work, the boiler was successfully fired up when using the Oil-Free Firing-up System in accordance with the standard schedule, exclusively when using coal fuel. Tests have shown high stability of flame of the Oil-Free Firing-up System, a low level of carbon in fly ash, and full compliance of the Oil-Free Firing-up System with the design power ratings.

Work for development and implementation of the Oil-Free Firing-up System was carried out on a turnkey basis by Novosibirsk subdivision of ZiO Group of Companies - ZiO-COTES LLC.

Taking into account the positive experience, the installation of this system is planned for new pulverized coal boilers st. No. 15 and st. No. 16, with steam capacity of 220 t / h, at Krasnoyarsk TPP-1, design, supply and construction of which is carried out by ZiO Group of Companies.

Oil-free firing-up system technology is being considered for use in other operating thermal power plants with pulverized coal boilers. The advantage of the new oil-free boiler firing method includes more environmentally friendly operation of TPPs - reducing the annual emissions of TPPs, increasing cost efficiency (excluding the cost of fuel oil and maintaining the mazut-handling equipment), and can also be used to increase the stability of combustion of a pulverized coal flame when the boiler is operating at reduced loads.
